About

I am a Machine Learning Engineer at Apple, and have contributed to the development of human-device interaction algorithms for iPhone, iPad and Apple Pencil. I received double Master degrees in ECE (computer vision) and ME from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I am broadly interested in machine learning and robotics.

Work Experience

Apple

Developed human-device interaction algorithms for iPhone, iPad and Apple Pencil. Had SVP-level impact on product shipping decisions.

[Showcase 1] [Showcase 2]

Isuzu Technical Center of America

Developed a ROS autonomous driving platform on a robot car for perception, reasoning, and control.

Projects

Semi-supervised Fish Detection

Developed a semi-supervised computer vision model to conduct fish localization and segmentation.

Weed Detection and Localization for Gardening Robot

Innovated a "copy-and-paste" data augmentation pipeline for weed detection.

Robotics System Laboratorys (ROB 550)

Made robotics algorithms (e.g. PID control, object detection, inverse kinematics and SLAM) work on real robots.

Robot Kinematics and Dynamics (EECS 567)

Implemented path-planning algorithms (DFS, BFS, greedy, A*, RRT, RRT-connect and RRT*) and forward/inverse kinematics in simulation.

3D Space-Time Correspondence using Normal-assisted Random Walk (EECS 598-012)

Improved a video object tracking model.

Database Application Design (SI 664)

Designed a food recommendation website with search engine, forum and account management.
